# Signing in

> Sign in to Flowsign with your email and password, Google, Microsoft or single sign-on, and enter your two-factor code.

The **Sign in** screen offers four ways in: your email and password, **Continue with Google**, **Continue with Microsoft** and **Continue with SSO**. Use whichever your organisation set you up with. If something goes wrong, the message shown under the form is explained in [Sign-in problems](/guides/access/sign-in-problems).

## Email and password

1. Enter your **Email** and **Password**. The eye button shows or hides what you have typed.
2. Select **Sign In**.

If you have forgotten your password, select **Forgot password?** under the password field. See [Resetting your password](/guides/access/resetting-your-password).

If your account has two-factor authentication turned on, the [code screen](#two-factor-code) opens next.

## Continue with Google or Microsoft

Select **Continue with Google** or **Continue with Microsoft** and sign in with that account on the provider's page. You are then brought back to Flowsign. If there's no Flowsign account for that email yet, you're taken to sign-up to create one. See [Sign-in problems](/guides/access/sign-in-problems#google-microsoft-and-sso).

If you back out of the provider's page without signing in, you return to the sign-in screen with no error.

## Continue with SSO

If your organisation signs in through its own identity provider:

1. Select **Continue with SSO**.
2. Enter your **Work email or company domain**, for example `you@yourcompany.com` or `yourcompany.com`.
3. Select **Continue with SSO** to go to your identity provider. After you sign in there, you are brought back to Flowsign.

Select **Back** to return to the other sign-in options.

### Typing a work email

You don't have to open the SSO panel first. When you type an email on a domain your organisation has set up for single sign-on, the password field is replaced with "yourcompany.com signs in with single sign-on." and the main button changes to **Continue with SSO**.

To use your password for that email instead, select **Sign in with a password instead**. If your organisation requires single sign-on, a password sign-in is refused and you are asked to continue with SSO. Owners can still use their password. See [Organisation security](/guides/settings/security).

## Two-factor code

If you turned on two-factor authentication, signing in with any method asks for a second step. The **Enter your code** screen reads "Open your authenticator app and enter the 6-digit code for Flowsign."

Type the 6-digit code from your authenticator app. It submits on its own once the sixth digit is in, and a wrong code is cleared so you can type the next one straight away.

You have 5 minutes to enter a code before the sign-in times out and you are sent back to sign in again. **Back to sign in** returns you there at any time.

### Signing in with a recovery code

If you don't have your authenticator app, select **Use a recovery code**. The screen reads "Enter one of the recovery codes you saved when you turned on two-factor. This will turn two-factor off."

1. Enter one of your saved codes in **Recovery code**. It looks like `XXXXX-XXXXX`.
2. Select **Sign in with recovery code**.

A recovery code signs you in but turns two-factor authentication off for your account, and your remaining recovery codes stop working. You land on the **Security & access** page so you can turn two-factor back on and save a fresh set of codes straight away. See [My account](/guides/account/my-account).

Select **Use your authenticator app** to go back to entering a 6-digit code.
