When a sign-in doesn’t go through, the Sign in screen shows a message under the form. Find the message below to see what it means and what to do. For the normal steps, see Signing in.

Email and password

”Invalid email or password”

The email and password don’t match a Flowsign account. Check for typos and that you are using the email your organisation invited. If you can’t remember your password, select Forgot password? and follow Resetting your password.

”Invalid email address”, “Email is required” or “Password is required”

The form checks what you typed before sending it. Fix the field the message sits under and select Sign In again.

”We couldn’t verify that request. Please refresh the page and try again.”

Flowsign runs an automatic check on each sign-in to stop automated attacks, and that check didn’t pass. Refresh the page and sign in again. If it keeps happening, try turning off browser extensions that block scripts, or use another browser.

”We couldn’t complete sign-in. Please try again.”

Flowsign couldn’t finish checking your account. Nothing is wrong with your details. Try again.

”Too many sign-in attempts. Wait a minute, then try again.”

Several sign-in attempts were made in quick succession. Wait a minute, then sign in again.

”Network error”

The sign-in request didn’t get a normal answer. Check your connection and try again.

Google, Microsoft and SSO

”We couldn’t complete that sign-in. Please try again.”

The Google or Microsoft sign-in didn’t finish. Try again, or sign in another way.

”That sign-in method is temporarily unavailable. Please try again.”

Google or Microsoft sign-in isn’t available right now. Try again shortly, or use your email and password.

”That sign-in worked, but there’s no Flowsign account for it yet.”

The provider signed you in, but there’s no Flowsign account behind that sign-in. If you were invited, sign in with the email the invite was sent to. If you’re new to Flowsign, select Sign up now to create an account.

”Your organisation requires single sign-on. Continue with SSO.”

Your organisation has turned on Require SSO, so your password can’t be used. The SSO panel opens with your domain filled in. Select Continue with SSO.

”We couldn’t complete SSO sign-in. Please try again.”

The sign-in with your identity provider didn’t finish. Try again. If it keeps failing, contact your organisation’s admin.

”SSO is temporarily unavailable. Please try again.”

Single sign-on isn’t available right now. Try again shortly.

”No Flowsign organisation is set up for that identity provider.”

No Flowsign organisation is connected to the identity provider you signed in with. Check you used your work account, and contact your organisation’s admin if it should work.

”No SSO provider configured for this domain”

The domain you entered in Work email or company domain doesn’t have single sign-on set up in Flowsign. Check the spelling, or go Back and sign in another way.

”Please enter your work email or company domain”

The SSO field is empty or doesn’t contain a domain. Enter your work email or your company’s domain, such as yourcompany.com.

”Your email already belongs to a different Flowsign organisation. Contact your administrator.”

Your email is already a member of another Flowsign organisation, so it can’t sign in through this one’s identity provider. Contact your organisation’s admin.

”SSO sign-in failed. Please contact your administrator.”, “SSO sign-in failed” or “SSO configuration error”

Flowsign couldn’t start the sign-in with your identity provider. Try again, and if it keeps happening, contact your organisation’s admin so they can check the single sign-on setup under Organisation security.

Access removed or turned off

”Your Flowsign access has been turned off by your organisation. Contact your administrator.”

Your organisation has deactivated your account. Only your organisation’s admin can reactivate it. Contact them.

”Your access to Flowsign was removed by your organisation’s admin. Contact them if you think this is a mistake.”

Your organisation has removed you. Contact your organisation’s admin if you think this is a mistake.

”Your session has ended. Please sign in again.”

Your session reached its maximum length, or it was ended from another device. Sessions last up to 7 days, or 12 hours when your organisation requires SSO, unless your organisation sets a shorter limit. Sign in again.

”You were signed out after a period of inactivity. Please sign in again.”

Your organisation signs people out after a set time without activity, and that time passed. Sign in again. Your admin sets this under Organisation security.

Invites

These appear when you open an invite link. See Joining an organisation. The link doesn’t match an invite. Check you copied the whole link, or ask your admin to send a new one.

”That invite has already been used or was cancelled. Ask your admin for a new one.”

The invite was accepted already, or your admin cancelled it. If you accepted it, sign in as normal. Otherwise ask your admin for a new one.

”That invite has expired. Ask your admin to send a new one.”

Ask your organisation’s admin to send a new invite.

”That invite was sent to a different email. Sign in with the invited email to accept it.”

You are signed in, or signing in, with a different email from the one the invite went to. Sign in with the invited email instead.

Two-factor codes

”That code isn’t right. Check your authenticator app and try again.”

The 6-digit code didn’t match. Codes change every few seconds, so wait for a fresh one and type it in. Also check your phone’s clock is set automatically, since a wrong clock produces wrong codes.

”That code isn’t right. Check it and try again.”

The recovery code didn’t match one of your saved codes. Check it against your saved list. Each recovery code works only once.

”Too many incorrect codes. Please sign in again.”

After 5 wrong codes, that sign-in stops accepting codes. You are sent back to the sign-in screen: sign in again to get a fresh attempt.

”Too many incorrect codes. Please try again in a few minutes.”

After 10 wrong codes across sign-in attempts, your account stops checking codes for 15 minutes. Wait, then sign in again.

”Your sign-in timed out. Please sign in again.”

You have 5 minutes to enter your code after your password or provider sign-in. Sign in again and enter the code promptly.

”Too many attempts. Please wait a moment.”

Codes were submitted too quickly. Wait a minute and try again.

Locked out with no recovery codes

If you have lost access to your authenticator app and don’t have your recovery codes, you can’t finish signing in yourself. Contact your organisation’s admin first. If they can’t help, email support@flowsign.app from the email address on your account.

I don’t have an account

Select Sign up now on the sign-in screen to create an account and choose a plan, including the Free plan. Choosing Continue with Google or Continue with Microsoft without an account takes you to the same sign-up. If your organisation already uses Flowsign, ask its admin to invite you instead, so you join their account rather than starting a new one. See Joining an organisation.

Still stuck

Email support@flowsign.app with the message you see and the email you are signing in with. Never send your password or a recovery code.
